Manhole and Street Light Installation. Oil Field Automation. Restoration works on power lines are aimed at increasing their capability by using wires with a larger cross-section, upgrading to a higher voltage class, or increasing mechanical reliability, etc.
In addition to the design and installation of overhead power transmission lines, Structum is engaged in construction and reconstruction of cable lines and substations.
Overhead power transmission lines. Structum Electric Power Overhead power transmission lines. Overhead line construction by Structum Since its foundation in , Structum has been engaged in construction of critical power facilities.
Stages of overhead lines construction Project implementation starts with design and engineering of overhead lines, which includes: Preparation of technical design assignment for the designed object. Feasibility study and selection of the optimal transmission line route. Engineering surveys and collection of necessary input data Development of design documentation for the construction of the overhead power line. Lines spanning between miles km are classified as medium transmission lines and usually transmit between Kv through its cables.
This category can be further sub-divided into Pi-Models and T- Models. In a Pi-Model line, the capacitance ability to store an electrical charge is concentrated equally at each end, whereas in a T-Model line the capacitance is concentrated at its center. Only in these lines are all four parameters used for determining performance resistance, inductance, capacitance, and leakage conductance equally distributed across the entire transmission line.
Line supports keep transmission lines suspended above the ground, minimizing the safety risk and maximizing their power transmission. There are 2 main types of line supports — poles and towers. The type used will depend on various factors, such as the voltage level and distance coverage required.
Poles transport power over shorter distances. Commonly used for distribution lines, they usually carry low-high voltage levels. The most common pole materials are wood, concrete, and steel. Wooden Poles: Often used to cover shorter distance spans, wooden poles are a cost-effective option for transporting low-medium voltage levels.
However, as a natural material, wooden poles have a shorter life span and are considerably more vulnerable to environmental conditions than their man-made counterparts. Concrete RCC Poles : Low maintenance with a superior loading capacity, concrete poles are a prime choice for supporting structures requiring an extra boost of strength or resilience, such as areas hosting extreme climatic conditions. Unfortunately, their weightier construction also makes them expensive and awkward to transport.
Steve, I think there is a fair amount of overlap here. Can I schedule a time to talk to you? I am looking for the same information Steve Calaway was whether they be Crane and heavy haul companies or Crane and rigging companies or powerline contractors. Thank you, Paul. Thanks a lot! Very nice article and quite informative! I am representing a firm in India that manufactures and exports transmission towers to 28 countries right now.
We do KV and above. Are there any buyers in Europe or North America? Please get me details of your firms as we have requirements of towers and also send me your company profile, export details list of the order executed and under execution. If interested, please contact me! Thank you so much for this article.
It helps me a lot in finding transmission construction companies and this is a very helpful article. I have 20 years of experience and worked mostly in African countries. Swarup, Thank you for your comment. Thanks, Greg. Thanks for sharing this information with us. It is very informative post. Keep posting and keep sharing like this more about Transmission Line Construction Companies. Can you please write more blogs on academics and how stuff works so that it can be a great resource for laymen!
This is really interesting! Keep posting blogs like Transmission Line Construction Companies for us. Continue your good work! For details, please shoot me an email: info thesearchfield.
