She was portrayed by Lily Collins in the live-action movie. Despite being forced to become the servant of her own home by her evil stepfamily, Cinderella is still a compassionate, romantic, and optimistic young woman who believes that her dreams of happiness could be fulfilled someday.

She even became good friends with the mice and birds that inhabit her attic room and was unafraid to impose her method of discipline on her stepmother's evil cat, Lucifer - preventing him from chasing and eating her mice and bird friends whenever she caught him in the act.

Cinderella was also strong-willed, determined, and resourceful: when her stepsisters mock her for believing that she could attend the royal ball she calls them bluff by insisting on the indisputable fact that she was still a member of the family and even emphasized on the royal command that every eligible maiden was to attend the ball.

She also had the idea of altering one of her mother's old gowns so that it becomes a suitable garment for her to wear to the ball. In this film, she was portrayed in an empowering role in the sense that armed with only her strength of character her belief in her dreams and of course her good mice and bird friends Cinderella had to contend with her stepmother's newly-acquired magical powers to fulfill her dreams of happiness.

At the very conclusion of the film, she not only triumphs over the wickedness and jealousy of her stepmother again but converts her stepsister, Anastasia to the side of good and she learns that if one wants a dream to come true, he or she has to help make it come true.

For most of the film, Cinderella wears her servant dress: it has a dark brown bodice with elbow-length aqua sleeves and a knee-length brown skirt. She also wears brown ballet flats and a ripped white apron. Her hair is tied with a blue ribbon.

Later, she wears her mother's dress after her friends alter it for her: it is pink with white lace held up by light pink sashes and bows, a light pink ribbon tied in a bow at the bodice, and short oval-shaped sleeves.

Cinderella also wears pink dress shoes, a turquoise bead necklace, and a white hair ribbon tied in a bow on top of her head. The stepsisters tear the dress apart after they accuse Cinderella of "stealing" their ribbon and beads.
